- Michigan is the first live state, with 16 city guides covering Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and Lansing — including Royal Oak, Detroit, Birmingham, Grosse Pointe, Troy, Ferndale, Warren, Livonia, Plymouth, Rochester, Farmington Hills, Clawson, Sterling Heights, Southfield, Ann Arbor and Lansing.
- Why separate websites instead of one national directory?
- Because local coverage is written locally. Each city guide has its own domain, its own editorial focus and its own relationships with the businesses in town, which keeps the writing specific instead of generic. The national and state levels exist to connect those sites, not to replace them.
- How do businesses get listed?
- Businesses are listed on the guide for the city they serve, not on CityGuide.us. Start on the Add your business page here and we route the request to the right city guide, or claim and update an existing listing directly.
- Can I advertise across the whole network?
- Yes. Advertising can be bought nationally, statewide across a hub such as Michigan City Guides, or across a chosen set of cities. Featured placements and category sponsorships are available on individual guides. The Advertise page has the details and a request form.
- How often are the guides updated?
- Every live city guide is reviewed and updated weekly, with new openings, closings and seasonal events added as they happen.
- Can CityGuide.us cover my city?
- Often, yes. We add cities with local partners and operators who know the ground. Use the Partner page to request a city or to apply to run a guide.
